Once I was staying in a hotel and while showering to get myself ready for the day, I heard someone placing their key card on my door and the door opened. I screamed and the person was shocked, realising that they were in the wrong room they quickly ran out and closed the door. I could not get a convencing explanation from hotel management why a duplicate key had been cut for a room already occupied by another guest. Luckily for me, to the other guest it was a genuine mistake not of their making and they were equally shocked. But the action of the hotel could have put my life in danger had the other person been malicious, i could have been attacked with very little I could have done to defend myself. Since then i have been extra cautious and always travel with an extra security measure. A simple but very powerful plastic door wedge that you can buy from a supermarket.
